The house.

One house,two tempos.
Mr. Peacock is the all-day house of Chalandri: a morning coffee and brunch hub that becomes, without a seam, one of the northern suburbs’ liveliest nights out. The second coffee turns into lunch, the aperitivo into dinner, the dinner into a last cocktail at the bar. It is a local staple — and, for anyone passing through Athens, a very good reason to leave the centre for an evening.
The name is the bird on the wall — proud, a bit loud, impossible not to look at. The fingerprint feathers on the logo are ours: every one of them is a member of the team.
Ten towhenever.
First espresso
Doors open. The machine has been warm since nine.
Brunch
Benedicts, shakshuka, the pancakes people drive across Athens for.
Aperitivo
The garden fills, the Aperol bus opens its hatch. Spritz hour, no rush.
Cocktails
Lights down, music up. The Mule starts pouring.
Last call
Every night. The garden closes a little earlier, the neon never.

The tequila corner. Yes, that is a cactus.

The wall. Every frame is a real dish, badly painted, on purpose.
Outside, whenAthens allows it.
The garden is what Mr. Peacock is known for: lush, green, strung with lights, with a bar of its own and an orange Aperol bus parked in the middle of it, serving spritz by the glass. From April to October this is where the day happens; the room is for when the nights turn.

“Escape the ordinary” started as something painted on a wall downstairs. It stuck, because it is the whole point.
